Face: Foundations, Concealers, Powders

Part Two

These are the face products that are in my current rotation on my beauty table. I don’t often switch up my foundation, concealers or powders.
But I do have some for certain occasions and products that just go well together.

I am open to change (sometimes) and do love to hear about new products coming out, or the holy grails that others can’t put down. But I do tend to be a creature of habit, and stick to what I know. When I know its good and works for me, it takes a lot for me to stray from that…

Everyday Foundation would have to be my NARS Sheer Glow Foundation; It’s the perfect light to medium coverage, with the most beautiful radiant finish. Its hydrating too, so it works perfectly with my dry skin. To set, I usually just dust a little bit of powder over my t-zone to keep it in place throughout the day.
I don’t feel like i need to touch up at all, it wears so well over time and just settles nicely into the skin.

For a little more coverage foundation I reach for my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, shit man, this product is beautiful! – It is more on the expensive side of foundations, but as I don’t use this everyday, one bottle lasts such a long time.
It glides on like, well silk and blurs any pimples or blemishes I have without feeling super heavy or like I have a “full face” on.
It does make me a little more oily throughout the day, so i make sure to fully set my entire face with a powder before leaving the house.

Full coverage, cover that shit up foundation is definitely the MAC Studio Fix Foundation, this is a fave for nights out, work events or just days for ‘glam makeup’ – Now first a disclaimer; I have incredibly dry skin, so before I wear this foundation, I need to prep, prep and more prep my skin so I don’t look like a dry, flaky mess once I’m out in public.
But as long as I prep my skin right, and don’t use tonnes of powder over the top, it is FLAWLESS; Covers everything and leaves nothing to the imagination. I typically will use a cream blush and bronzer with this foundation, with a light dust of translucent powder over my t-zone to set.

Cheap Concealer goes to the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, it is such a good formula, even better price and just as good (if not better) than most high-end concealers I’ve tried. I have quite deep lines around my eyes and this product does not settle into them or highlight them in any way. The light colour is perfect for my skin tone and for the price, you really can’t go past it!

High-End Concealer goes to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, because of the formula, the finish and the ability to not settle into my deep ravines of lines around my eyes; this product is beautiful. The large colour range and ‘creaminess’ really does set this apart from other concealers. And it goes SO WELL with the NARS Sheer Glow foundation.

Holy Grail Concealer hands down goes to Estee Lauder, Double Wear Concealer – I cannot fault this product in any way, shape or form. It is perfect. I know, that is a BIG call about a product. But personally, this concealer completes my life, every time I reach for it, I know the results I will get; flawless skin, concealed blemishes and the perfect amount of highlight to my face. I can never go wrong with this incredible liquid in a bottle, which includes the perfect shaped/sized applicator too. Bonus!

Cheap Loose Powder is the Face of Australia, Loose Translucent Powder, this product is the perfect dupe for the Laura Mercier Loose Translucent powder, for 1/4 of the price! It doesn’t show flash-back, sets my face nicely and keeps my foundation/concealer in place all day.

High-End Loose Powder is of course the Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Setting Powder that the entire beauty world is obsessed with. I don’t want to buy into hype that isn’t real, but this product really is beautiful. From the no-flash back, to the flawless finish and the beautiful sheen that’s left on your skin; the Laura Mercier powder is definitely worth the hype and the $$$.

Holy Grail Powder has to be the Australis, Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder – This product is like my right hand, I use it almost every morning to set my foundation & concealer, I carry in my handbag everyday for touch-ups and I feel as though I couldn’t live without this perfect little compact. Have I peaked? Have I officially reached the top in my hunt for the perfect face powder…? I think so!

I’m always on the hunt for new products to try out and fall in love with – So please leave me recommendations below, and tell me what your fave products are at the moment? 😀
