Today’s topic is all about EYES – I switch up my eye products every single day!
I love finding new eyeshadow palettes, the newest finest eyeliner pens and of course the best of the best mascara formulas.
I probably own way too many eye products, because I am always finding something new that I LOVE. Also, with the way that eyeshadow colours go in/out of fashion and how eyeliners & mascaras dry up, its best for me to just keep collecting to make sure I am prepared for any situation… right?! 🙈
Now, I’m not very big on single eyeshadows.. I don’t like to have to find homes for them, either in the little compacts, or by putting them into empty palettes. They’re fiddly little shits and I just don’t have the time LOL. Most of the time I can find exactly what I’m looking for within a palette, and I am yet to come across a colour that I had to have that I couldn’t find in a palette version. If it does happen, I’ll be sure to let you know!
Too Faced, Sweet Peach Palette
Oh baby, this product doesn’t just smell amazing but it looks amazing, blends amazing and is just all round amazing. All the colours compliment each other perfectly (not to mention my skin tone) – It’s the perfect all-rounder palette, with that splash of glitter for a night out that we all need!
I died and went to beauty heaven the day I *miraculously* got my hands on this thing. I was wandering aimlessly around Sephora (as you do) whilst killing time in Sydney CBD, when the girl started unpacking a fresh box of this goodness right in front of me, holy shit, it was a sign from the beauty gods that I MUST HAVE this fucking palette. I grabbed one and held on for dear life as I scuttled up the stairs to the register to make sure it was definitely mine and no one else could have it. I skipped out of that store a happy little cucumber to finally have my sticky makeup loving hands on this beautifully crafted palette by Anastasia. With a balanced mix of matte & shimmer that I can use to create hundreds of eyeshadow looks to compliment any lipstick/outfit colour combo i could dream up.
This girl right here, this naturally pretty palette of 10 colours is my fave everyday palette for subtle, natural and pretty looks that i just can’t go wrong with. With the different tones of nude and a hint of shimmer, this girl is your bestfriend to get you through a miserable working week and out to Friday drinks with your girlfriends looking fab and effortless.
Now with my eyeliners, I am incredibly fussy – They need to be pure black, like pitch black, and usually that isn’t black enough for me! They need to super pigmented, none of this transparent, grey shit that some of them dry as.
And I much prefer to use a pen/marker sort of eyeliner. I just haven’t found my holy grail of angle brushes, so I can’t get too involved with the pot eyeliners.
I also don’t like to spend a lot of money on my eyeliners, cause I use them every single day, and they run out SO QUICK, so anything under $20 suits me just fine!
This baby has been a loyal product in my makeup routine for years now, its cheap, super black and the tip is on POINT!
The formula is great, sets nicely and stays put all day. I can’t fault it at all!
Its super black, doesn’t lose any pigment when it dries and stays put all day. The applicator is a super sharp point and creates a great wing. I always keep one in my draw as I am never disappointed if i reach for it. At $5 you cannot go wrong, it’s a no-brainer.
I like this one because it dries as a glossy finish, which is a nice texture change next to a matte shadow look on a night out. Its super black, super pigmented and DOES NOT MOVE. Maybelline definitely knows how to make a perf eyeliner formula!
As the name suggests, the point certainly is “HyperSharp” – the only peeve I have with this applicator is that it’s flexible and bends a little too easily; which does not help when trying to conduct a risky move such as a winged liner on perfectly blended eyeshadow.
But other than that, love this one.
In my below descriptions of my fave mascaras, you will notice a constant reoccurring word that I will use… ‘lengthening’ – My mascaras must be all about adding length and lengthening my lashes to new heights never seen before haha. No, but in all seriousness, this is pretty much the only requirement I have for my mascaras, make my lashes LONG!
She does the job, along with a pure black colour, non-sticky formula and a brush that lengthens my lashes all the way up!
This one has tiny little fibers that help with the lengthening process of applying mascara, so she’s a bit of a cheater, but I love her for it!
Again, Maybelline just knows their formula, cause they’ve got this one down to a tee. And such a beautiful full black colour that is perfect on my blonde little baby lashes.
My holy grail of holy grails. This one came out of nowhere, hit me like a truck and left me feeling so satisfied with life. As I said at the start, with products that dry up and run out quickly, I barely even consider reaching for a ‘high-end’ mascara or eyeliner [as you can see from this post, anything out of Priceline I tend to classify as high-end]
But this product came to me in those beautiful ‘Beauty Loop Boxes’ that you get for being a member of Mecca Maxima/Mecca Cosmetica – I of course am a Level 3 member, which means I spend way too fucking much money there, but that’s a story for another day.
It came as an adorable little travel size (which i am totally a sucker for anything travel size) and I thought, what they hay, I most as well give it a go.
And in the 6 months since I tried it, I have bought the full size version twice.. TWICE – That is how much I have used it, routinely, religiously, lovingly. It is amazing!
As always, let me know your fave products and I’ll be sure to check them out & possibly include them in my next post 😊😊
