Family Excursion: Aquarium & Wildlife Park

A few weeks back, we ventured into Sydney city for a day out to the Sydney Aquarium and Wildlife Park; with myself, Rick, Leo & my mum.

It was an awesome day out, a long day, but a good day.
Leo was such a good sport, staying awake for all the attractions, before passing out as we exited the wildlife park and headed to lunch. Such a good boy!

First stop was the Sealife Aquarium!
Leo was obsessed with all the fish, sharks & stingrays. He was in awe while we were walking through the tunnels where all the fish could swim over the top. It was definitely a first for him.
As you can see he loved it!

His favourite part was definitely the PENGUINS – He literally spent 30-40 minutes just hanging out watching them as they waddled around and swum past the glass. So cute!

Next it was onto the big viewing room with the massive glass viewing area into the tank – Leo loved this space where he could have a run around and get right up close to the glass for a good view of all the fishies!

Next stop: The Wildlife Park

Leo was terrified of all the statues that were around the wildlife park like the Kangaroo and Emu statues at the entrance; mind you they were huge, 6-7ft tall and a little scary.

Once we were inside though, he was so excited about all the animals wandering around and all the different things to see.
He loved all the marsupials that were running around their enclosure, and seeing all the different kinds of birds.

He loved the dark areas where all the nocturnal animal enclosures were – Cause’ they were all lit up and easy for him to view.

His fave animals were definitely the kangaroos – Just chilling in their space and Leo got to hang out near the rope and watch them in their natural habitat.

After we left the wildlife park we did pop into Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum – But he wasn’t really interested in anything there; and neither were we, it really was quite boring.

Once we were outside, we headed across the Pyrmont Bridge to the Harbourside Shopping Centre for some lunch. Leo passed out in the pram on the way, as he was super tired from all the animal hunting he did !!

After lunch we wandered back to the train station for the trip home.
Stopping along the boardwalk for some photos on the way of course πŸ™‚

Leo woke up once we were on the train as there was lots of loud noises, etc
And he didn’t seem too impressed to be woken up πŸ˜›

All in all it was a good family day out. Leo loved all the animals, all the different sights and just generally venturing out of our area to do something new πŸ™‚
Us adults equally enjoyed the trip out, we all love doing the animal parks – No matter how many times we’ve done them before 😜
