9hr Flight Skincare Tips

So as ya’ll would have seen from previous blog posts and copious amount of holiday spam on Facebook (/TheMakeupMumma1), Instagram (@themakeupmumma), Twitter (@themakeupmumma_) and Snapchat (@tminx93)
Go follow me btw <3

But if you didn’t know; I recently spent 7 days in Thailand on a girls trip. And obviously, to get to/from Thailand, one has to sit through 2 (hopefully) direct flights from Sydney to Phuket.

Our flight over was 9hrs 20mins and our flight home was 8hrs 45mins – And in that time, your skin, not just your face, but your hands, legs, body etc get super dehydrated and dry from the altitude and the in-flight air conditioning.

So here are some of my tips for keeping your skin hydrated on a flight, whilst adhering to those pesky airport rules around carry-on liquids 🙂

  1. Hand Sanitiser
Not really for hydrating as it actually dries out your hands, but airports & planes = eww, so deffs carry this with you at all times! lol
  2. Hand cream
To use after the hand sanitiser lol and throughout the flight. I love the Lanolips Everywhere Multi Cream
If your fave kind doesn’t have a smaller/travel option, purchase a travel bottle like these and fill them up with your fave creams.
  3. Hydrating Mist
I love this Dr Dennis Gross C+ Collagen Perfect Skin Set & Refresh Mist, and I purchased it in the 88ml travel size
  4. Face Moisturiser
I don’t carry my normal one in my carry on as its glass, but I love my little travel sized Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser
  5. Cuticle Oil
Every time I go get my nails done, my nail girl always asks if I’m keeping up with my cuticle oil, because my cuticles look sad and dry lol
So now I pretty much carry this 24/7 in my handbag.. Including when I travel 🙂

Now these are not in my carry on, but I also take with me a big bottle of body moisturiser, I love the Dove one as it is really hydrating & gentle on my sensitive skin.
And I always carry a bottle of the Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Spray, and I keep it in the little hotel room fridges if I get sunburnt; which is almost a guarantee when you’re a whitey like me haha 😛

Other items I carry are of course my full Dr Dennis Gross range of skincare that is my religious routine and my ultimate fave Bondi Sands Dark Tanning Mousse <3

If I’m really concerned about my skin before I go on holidays, I’ll take a few of the Mecca Fresh Face Masks to use while I’m away to keep that moisture in my skin 🙂

Do you guys have any items that you religiously travel with when you know your skin is going to suffer?
Do you also love some of my fave products?

Let me know if you wanna know about any other aspects of my trip and I’d be happy to include it in my next post 😀
