So two weeks ago, I got home from an amazing 7 days in paradise a.k.a Phuket, Thailand.
It was the most relaxing break, with good company (my girl Hayley <3 ), awesome sights to see and of course amazing food!
Keep reading to see what we got up to 🙂
Day 1: Saturday, 26th August
We flew from Sydney to Phuket; thank god for direct flights, we were exhausted by the time we landed, got out bags and dragged out asses off to the first hotel.
We landed at 8:45pm local Phuket time – and got straight into our private hotel transfer to our first location 🙂
Our first hotel was the Banthai Resort & Spa at Patong Beach. It is such a beautiful resort, with 3 swimming pools all with pool bars, 5 restaurants/bars and of course a full spa!
We booked a Deluxe Pool Room that has direct pool entry from our little balcony; absolute heaven! 😀
(The staff were incredibly rude when we checked in, we had a mix up with our booking and they DID NOT handle it well; I was so disappointed as I’d only heard amazing things about this place)
Other than the rude staff, the location is fucking mint! The amenities in/around the resort are awesome, and with a 50m walk to Patong Beach, the markets and Bangla Road, it is the perfect tourist location for exploring.
Day 2: Sunday, 27th August
Our first full day in Phuket started with eating ridiculous amounts of food at the buffet breakfast; followed by wandering around Patong and exploring the local surroundings.
That night, we got picked up from our hotel and taken to the Phuket FantaSea Theme Park for the Dinner & Show. One word. WOW. This show was amazing, we loved every second, and not to mention the dinner! So delicious! 😀
Day 3: Monday, 28th August
We didn’t have any plans or tours booked for this day as it was a late night from the FantaSea show; So we decided to venture into the markets which was literally around the corner from our Resort – So convenient!
We spent a few good hours traipsing through the markets and into the Jungceylon Shopping Centre – We picked up some cute souvenirs to bring home and some goodies for our loved ones.
Once we were all shopped out, we headed back towards the resort for, of course food and some relaxing 🙂
We went and got massages/facials and fully beautified – So fucking relaxing, it was good!
Day 4: Tuesday, 29th August
Our biggest day yet! We got picked up at 7:30am and taken to the pier to get on our ferry over to the island.
The boat ride was around 90 minutes – and the sights we saw as we sped across the water was so beautiful, all the different islands – Amazing! 🙂
Once on Phi Phi island we swam in the crystal blue water, listened to music at the bar and enjoyed the food and cocktails/mocktails on offer. It did rain at one point and was a little overcast, but overall a good day.
We jumped back on the boat to head back to the main land. It was the longest damn boat ride of my life, we both napped on the boat as it just seemed to go on forever.
Not to mention we still had to get in a car and drive an hour back to the resort once we got off the boat; we didn’t get home til so late, but we dropped our shit in our room and went straight to get food, which was amaze-balls!
Day 5: Wednesday, 30th August
For our last bit of time at the Banthai – We snuck in another sneaky massage before having to leave.
We got picked up by our very fancy transfer car and taken to Chalong Pier to The Racha check-in office; Yeah they have their own office on the mainland that you check-in at before being transferred to the island. So luxurious! <3
Once we had all our snacks, got ourselves checked in and chose our shower gel and shampoo/conditioner flavours for the next few days – We walked the 100m to the pier and got on The Racha speedboat over to the island.
When we arrived, we were greeted by the beautiful staff, given an amazing fruity drink and a cold towel to refresh ourselves.
While we waited for our room keys and tour guide, we enjoyed the beautiful view of our private beach for the next 3 days and couldn’t wait to get in that water!
Once we got escorted to our room and settled in; It was time for lunch and some pool time. We headed to the Earth Cafe for food, then upstairs to the infinity pool where we parked ourselves for the rest of the afternoon!
Dinner time rolled around, and again we were not feeling the whole get dressed up for dinner thing – So we ordered to our room and watched a movie in our giant King Bed 😀
Day 6: Thursday, 31st August
We were well overdue for a sleep in, but when you’re on a hot island, that you don’t want to miss a moment of, you tend to get up early; especially when the amazing buffet breakfast is calling your name!
So we sauntered down to the buffet breakfast and definitely over-indulged ourselves. It was to die for!
We headed up to the pool and laid out on the sun beds overlooking the pool and amazing beach, and just relaxed with a cocktail (mocktail for me), it was so chill and pretty!
After almost the entire day by the pool, we headed back to the room to clean up and work our dinner plans.
And then headed off for dinner; We went to the Earth Cafe for dinner, and had our first ‘expensive’ dinner since being in Thailand, which of course still wasn’t to Australia’s standard of expensive. The food is always amazing here, it never disappoints! 😀
Day 7: Friday, 1st September
After over-indulging in breakfast once again, we decided to set up shop in front of the beach today, instead of pool; which of course was so beautiful and peaceful.
After a few hours there, the wind started to pick up heaps, so we decided why not head back to our room, and utilise our incredible private pool that we had; yup our own pool! 😛
We spent the afternoon in the pool, listening to music and watching some in-room movies once the rain started.
We ordered room service for dinner and just generally loved our final night in Thailand 🙂
Day 8: Saturday, 2nd September
After a sad goodbye to all the staff, and some sneaky last-minute photos of the resort; We jumped on our speedboat back to the mainland before needing to head to the airport.
We arrived back at Chalong Pier just before lunch time, and as we didn’t need to leave for the airport until 5-6pm, we headed back to Patong to get some final shopping done at the markets – After getting everything we wanted (for the price we wanted, bartering skills on point!) we caught a taxi back to Chalong Pier to The Racha office for our airport transfers.
It was so sad to leave, and our flight home was horrendous, long and exhausting; but we’re home now and all we have is good memories of our beautiful holiday in absolute paradise.
I cannot recommend Thailand more to anyone who wants an amazing but budget holiday. It’s an incredible place, the people are so friendly and welcoming, and you will definitely come back with memories that will last a lifetime <3
